Creating a manageable system for making children's learning visible
Duration: Approx. 55 min
Documenting children’s learning is important for several reasons. It should be a resource for teachers, assessment information should be used to inform curriculum design and make visible children’s learning progress to families. Different purposes and audiences can present challenges and we often end up with unmanageable systems or just recording information without thinking about its purpose and whether it is making a difference. In addition, many find narrative writing time consuming and/or just hard and have got to a point where documentation is just being pumped out because “we have to do it”.

This webinar will:
  • Prompt you to reflect on how you got to where you are with your system.
  • Encourage you to think about whether what you are doing is making a difference to outcomes for children.
  • Present some practical solutions to make documentation manageable and fit for purpose
