1-082 Recorded Webinar
Part 2 (of 2) How to write effective learning stories
Duration: Approx. 60 min
Margaret Carr and Wendy Lee launched Learning Stories in 2001. Their vision was to document children’s learning using narrative assessment and then compile stories in a portfolio to show the child’s unique learning journey and celebrate them as a learner. Since their inception learning stories have become the dominant form of assessment in New Zealand ECE services. Over the past two decades the purpose, and methods of writing learning stories has been interpreted in numerous ways, not all of which are consistent with the original intentions.

This webinar will:

  • Reconnect you with the intended purpose of learning stories
  • Revisit the key components of learning stories
  • Provide helpful guidance to ensure that learning stories are serving their intended purpose
  • Encourage you to reflect on and critique how you and others in your service write learning stories and make improvements
